Babylon A.D. Slammed by critic...It's Director!

Opening this friday, Babylon A.D. is the latest actioneer staring Vin Diesel. I'll admit I was interested in seeing the flick...at least until DoorQ brought this to my attention.

From director Mathieu Kassovit: "I'm very unhappy with the film. I never had a chance to do one scene the way it was written or the way I wanted it to be. The script wasn't respected. Bad producers, bad partners, it was a terrible experience."

Ouch. I can't imagine Fox will be happy about this.

Kassovit goes on to say, "It's pure violence and stupidity. The movie is supposed to teach us that the education of our children will mean the future of our planet. All the action scenes had a goal: They were supposed to be driven by either a metaphysical point of view or experience for the characters...instead parts of the movie are like a bad episode of 24."

Maybe we won't get a director's cut of this movie any time soon.

Babylon A.D. opens on Friday.

  1. the previews for Babylon AD made me expect something a lot more original... it totally felt like a cross between Minority Report and the Fifth Element
