2009 Grammy Nominations


Grammy Nominations were announced last night. Again, they're pretty much a joke. I am pleased to see Jason Mraz getting some nominations though. Lil' Wayne is nominated an inexplicable 8 times. Who picks these things?

  1. The Grammys are like Jehovah's Witnesses...if you ignore them, they'll eventually go away.

    Seriously though, can someone explain the difference between "Record" and "Song" of the year? Also how would "Song" be different than "Performance"?
    And how much more specific can they get with these things. "Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals", really? Is "Best Song Over 3 Minutes But Under 4 Minutes Hummed By a Guy Named Bob" next?

    And love, hate, or indifferent (me) Lil Wayne sold a fuckton of albums and was reviewed well pretty much across the board. I don't understand it personally but with that much praise, of course he should get a nomination.

    Anyway, here's hoping for Radiohead, M.I.A., Daft Punk, Eddie Vedder, Gnarls Barkley, Pink, Nas, and Dragonforce to win!
