ok, there were a few surprises after all. I certainly didn't expect Colin Farrell, Gabriel Byrne, or Anna Paquin to win. I'm definitely more curious to see all the projects they won for.

Slumdog Millionaire won four awards and will most likely win handily at the Oscars as well. It's certainly deserved as it is a beautiful film.

Congrats to all the winners.

Edit: pardon my error In Bruges did NOT win best picture. My mistake has been corrected. Thanks Amy!!

  1. The Award for Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical went to Vicky Christina Barcelona..Not In Bruges...I don't know why that movie won... but it did

In Bruges is an awesome movie..I'm really glad Colin got the award..even though his co-star Brendan Gleeson did a better performance, I thought.. but you should really check out the movie, it's worth watching..

Tru Blood is also a very awesome show.. and even though I was surprised when Anna won..it does make sense because shes the fresh new talent and I do think she does an awesome job on the show...Yes, Tru Blood isn't like Angel or Moonlight and not even close to the train wreck that is Twilight.. but its a good modern twist on old cliche myths of vampires and other mystical creatures.

So long story short.. Check out both In Bruges and Tru Blood.
