The Vampire Chronicles return!

Hats off to Bloody-Disgusting for scoring this information. It looks like Universal is planning to reboot the Vampire Chronicles franchise, based on the novels by Anne Rice, and are even talking to a very interesting actor to take over the role of Lestat Du Lioncort, formerly played by Tom Cruise in the brilliant Interview With The Vampire and Stuart Townsend in the atrocious Queen of the Damned.

Want to know who Universal is talking to for this part?

You just may be surprised. Click the Rawr to find out.

It's Robert Downey Jr!!! If this comes to fruition it could make for some pretty interesting films.

  1. Hoping they'll just skip "interview" and head straight into the "Vampire Lestat" with this reboot. It would make more sense. Lets just see the story of Lestat told on film, finally. F*%$ that whiney Louis? No real way to tell that better. In the mean time lets just hope RDJ can pull off another great adaptation. Could be great.

  2. @ SOJJ

If they could do it right, yeah, do the second book first, then 1, 3 etc...

Hopefully they make it right and not just something to appease the twlight fans. ugh.
