E3 Recap

Technophile back with a bunch of video game goodies for you. As some of you well know, the "new" Electronic Entertainment Expo was this last week and while it wasn't the same E3 that the industry was used to, there was a fair number of updates that got released. In this article I'm going to shine a little spotlight on some games that I think you all should keep an eye on.

First up is BIOSHOCK. This comes to us from Irrational games. BIOSHOCK is the story of the undersea city of Rapture. A scientific utopia where something has gone horribly wrong. BIOSHOCK is billed as the "spiritual successor" to System Shock 2, which is probally one of the scariest and unique FPS's done in the last few years. Below is a video showing some of highlights of the unique AI and enviroment manipulation that you can do in the game and how every encounter and situation has multiple solutions.

BIOSHOCK is releasing on August 21st for Xbox 360 and PC.

Next up is the next big Mario game from Nintendo. Named Super Mario Galaxy, it looks to be another winner. Being on the Wii, expect some crazy uses of the wiimote and all the lighthearted fun that is Mario's signature gameplay.

Super Mario Galaxy releases 11/12/07 for the Nintendo Wii

Next up is one of my personal favorites. Guitar Hero 3. As any of you that may have played the first two know, Guitar Hero puts you in the role of a rock god. With the fantastic guitar controller, this new installment brings new songs, boss battles against real guitar gods like Slash and new multiplayer modes. It will also have online multiplayer on the consoles that support it as well as a completely redone UI and graphic design.

Guitar Hero 3 comes out November of this year for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2.

Here is a game I think will be hard to beat in the next year. Assassin's Creed.
I'll just show you the video. I can't even put into words how amazing this game is to me.

Assassin's Creed releases September 25 2007 for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Unfortunatly, there wasn't too much released about the next installment of Smash Bros . Dubbed Super Smash Bros Brawl, it looks like yet another awesome installment of the smash bros series. I'm gonna link a short video and then a link to the smash bro's dojo website where they release new info every day mon-fri. Enjoy.

Smash Bros Dojo (official site)

Super Smash Bro's Brawl releases December 3rd 2007 for the Nintendo Wii.

Metal Gear Solid 4. That should be all I need to say. If you are not familiar with the genius that is Hideo Kojima then you need to go rent Solid 1-3 and familiarize yourself. Watch this amazing video.

MGS4 is coming out March 1 2008 for the PS3.

Now, this is just a small small sampling of what was shown a E3. I didn't even touch on Rock Band, World in Conflict, The Force Unleashed, as well as the hundreds of other games that got shown there. No matter what you like, there is some big big stuff coming out this next year. It's a good time to be a gamer (as it always is!)
