Book Review: Pay Phone

Pay Phone
Written by: Brandon Ford

Everyone looks to the future of any entertainment format in its indie genre.   Indie music, indie films.  But not much attention is paid to independent authors.  The indie book world is loaded with some great talent well deserving of mainstream attention and success.

One such author is Brandon Ford.

Ford's latest novel, Pay Phone is a hyper violent thriller about a serial killer who chooses his victims from, well you probably guessed by now, those who answer the pay phone he obsessively calls. Once someone answers and is foolish enough to succumb to the killers charms, horror ensues.

Gross, squirmy, cringe worthy horror.

The book is packed full of some great and realistic characters. Those we can actively hate and those we can pray make it to the end alive.

I don't want to delve too much into plot as I don't want to spoil anything.  Pay Phone is a pretty gruesome tale that is a hell of a lot of fun to read.  I don't think I've felt as genuinely uncomfortable reading a book as I was reading this one.  That's a good thing by the way.

Pay Phone was a nice little surprise. A wildly entertaining nail-biting thriller with some scenes that are sure to make even the most ardent horror fan gasp.

Brandon Ford might just be the future of great horror!

Pay Phone, as well as Brandon Ford's other novels, are available now.  I for one am interested to see how good his other ones are.
