BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S has been fully restored and remastered for this 50th Anniversary Blu-ray release, which boasts over 90 minutes of special features including an exploration of the making of the film, a look at Audrey’s iconic style, a tour of the studio lot, featurettes on Henry Mancini and Tiffany’s, commentary by producer Richard Shepherd, photo galleries, the original theatrical trailer and more.

BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S is a weird movie, poised as it is at the very end of the production code era but yet way before the permissiveness that would come post VIRGINIA WOOLF. Therefore, it exists in the realm of the very weird, where its narrative, about two prostitutes who live on the edge of destitution, is completely at odds with its visual design (Givanchy). Truman Capote (who wrote the original story) supposedly hated it. Nevertheless, it became an icon of both its era and for Hepburn, although, to be honest, it is also one of those movies that is better remembered than seen. The homoerotic subtext is also very surprising for the era (look at how Peppard is continually objectified, even if his patron is Patricia Neal rather than a guy). But then again, the director WAS Blake Edwards...
