Concert Review: "An Evening with Cheap Trick" LIVE @ The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles 9/12/2013

Last night at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, seminal rock band Cheap Trick took the stage for an interview, Q & A and intimate 6 song concert in front of a small but jam packed audience of diehard fans.

The band members were in great spirits and during the interview touched on such topics as rehearsing for free at Sinnissippi Park in Rockford, IL, hearing a song from their first album playing inside of a strip club, their not so glamorous first time on stage at the Budokan Theatre, career longevity ("We're too stupid to quit") and the long love affair with their fans.

The interview session was conducted by Vice President of the Grammy Foundation and MusiCares Scott Goldman.  Goldman was the weak link in the nights presentation as his questions ran to the obvious or pedestrian and his demeanor was that of a nervous fanboy who never fully had command of the room.  His performance and lack of solid in-depth questions hindered the proceedings from becoming a truly memorable once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The nights festivities ended with Cheap Trick rocking out a 6 song mini concert that had the whole audience on their feet for the entire performance.

Drumroll please...  8 out of 10 drumsticks!!!
