Action Figure Review: DC Collectibles New 52 The Joker

You can't spell Slaughter without laughter, and who knows that better than the Joker!

Straight out of Scott Snyder's New 52 storyline "Death of the Family," the Joker is back and deadlier than ever.

After having his face cut off, the Joker was missing for an entire year, but he came back with a vengeance (and his original face held on with a belt) to terrorize Gotham, Batman, and the whole Bat-Family.

Phil Ramirez's sculpt perfectly captures Greg Capullo's disturbing depiction of the re-faced Joker. Wearing his absurd "Joe's Garage" coveralls, the Joker has a plethora of deadly tools at his disposal. His work belt is full of sculpted tools, but he has a few accessories that fit nicely either in his hands or their respective pouches: a pipe wrench, hammer, knife, and pliers. I especially like this detail because I'm a big fan of all the accessories being able to fit on the figure in a practical manner.

The Joker's face is hideous (and I mean that in a good way)! Ramirez perfectly depicted the horror of the Joker's rotting face pulled in an eerie and sadistic smile. The eyes look haunting behind the Joker's makeshift "mask."

With lots of articulation, this is an excellent figure to pose in a variety of ways against any Bat-Family member. This figure, Captain Cold and Black Manta, are the first wave of the New 52 Super Villains series (with more on the way). Be sure to look for The Riddler and Talon coming out this holiday season.

Just in time for Halloween, this scary and demented Joker action figure from DC Collectibles is out now! I highly recommend picking up Batman's main villain for your own Rogues Gallery.

DC Collectibles has done it again! The New 52 The Joker is a 10 out of 10 detached faces!
