Music Review: James Taylor Collector's Edition CD Reissues

Culture Factory USA has just released 3 stunning remastered mini LP sleeve editions of 3 James Taylor classic albums. "JT," "Flag" and "Dad Loves His Work" have never looked or sounded better.

The discs come in exact mini replicas of the original vinyl releases.  Both "JT" and "Flag" have sturdy gatefold sleeves and all 3 releases have every component of the original artwork.

For any James Taylor fan these are an absolute "must purchase."  "JT" is Taylor's biggest selling release of his career (along with "Sweet Baby James") selling 3 million copies and spawning the hits "Your Smiling Face" and "Handy Man."  "Flag" contains Taylor's cover of the Carole King classic "Up On The Roof" plus deep album favorites like "Johnnie Comes Back," "Millworker" and "Company Man."  1981's "Dad Loves His Work" finds Taylor writing about the break up of his marriage to Carly Simon with the hits "Her Town Too" and "Hard Times."

Audiophiles will also rejoice because these 3 titles are how all CDs should sound.  The remastering is absolute perfection and these 3 titles sound better than any of Taylor's Warner Brothers catalogue CDs that have been released through the pricey Audio Fidelity label.

When compared to the sound of the Columbia Records remastered editions, well quite frankly there is no comparison at all.  The Culture Factory USA discs sound much fuller and you'll swear someone is playing bass guitar in the back seat of your car.

Drumroll please… all 3 titles 10 out of 10 drumsticks!!!
