Wes Anderson's "Fantastic Mr. Fox" is an absolute wonder to behold. The stop action animation feels old-timey while at the same time state of the art as well.
Everyone involved in the production hits a home run. The voice actors including George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and many more are just perfect. Each of them nailing every line of the scripts humorous dialogue. Like all of Anderson's films "Fantastic Mr. Fox" is a masterfully quirky and something that can be enjoyed by adults as well as children.
The Criterion Collection Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack includes an abundance of special features such as: Audio commentary by Wes Anderson, interviews with cast and crew, audio recording of author Roald Dahl reading his book on which the film was based, an hour long documentary from 2005 about the author, a 34 page color booklet chronically every aspect of the film and much much more.
The sound and picture for this release rank right up there with the best that I have ever seen and once again Criterion has proven why their releases are the gold standard when it comes to the home video market.
