Movie Trailer: New Wave

Hey guys,

We have a special treat for you today.

We're sharing a special peak at the promo trailer for a film called New Wave, which is written by Andrew Koenig. Andrew was kind enough to share this with me so I can share it with you in the hopes of getting eyes on it that can help get it produced.

New Wave is an anti-nuke, sci-fi comedy with lots of kick ass 80's music. It takes it's inspiration from 80's movies like Repo Man and Buckaroo Banzai.

After you watch the trailer, please leave a comment at the New Wave Fan Page on Facebook. The more fans, the better chance of getting it made.

You can see the trailer by heading over to the following address (or by clicking the poster above) and entering the log in info below:

Check out the trailer, join the fan page, and tell your friends, especially if you know anyone who can help get this made.

It really looks like it will be a great movie.

Best of '08: Podcasts!

Rather than do a complete list of podcasts I decided simply to name the best of the year and then a couple honroable mentions. I wanted to keep it pithy for you readers out there.

So here we go...

Drum roll please...

The best podcast of 2008 is...

wait for it...

wait for it...

Hosted by the legendary Jimmy Pardo. Co-hosted and produced by Matt Belknap. Never Not Funny is 90+ minutes of wall to wall hilarity. Each week brings a special guest from the comedy world. Past guests include: Dave Holmes, Pat Francis, Maria Bamford, Paul F. Tompkins, Patton Oswalt, Andrew Daly, Scott Aukerman, Danielle Koenig, the list goes on. It is a can't miss podcast for anyone who enjoys great conversation and a lot of laughter.
You can subscribe to the free portion (the first 20 minutes of each weeks show) but if you want the full NNF experience, you gotta drop the $19.95 ($24.95 for video). Trust me it's worth it. You probably pay 10 times that amount for cable and Never Not Funny is funnier than anything you'll see on TV.

Honerable Mentions
Comedy and Everything Else: Exactly as the title implies. Great hosts, Great conversation, great laughs.
Battleship Pretension: Movie talk from guys who know infinitely more about movies than most anyone. It's really entertaining to listen to (not to mention learn from). It also happens to be the podcast of our own Tyler Smith! (That has nothing to do with why it's on this list, I actually enjoy the show!)
That's it for now. There are more Best Of lists coming in the next few weeks!
Happy New Year!

Never Not Funny Charity Auction

Most people who know me know how much I enjoy Jimmy Pardo and his weekly podcast Never Not Funny. So much so that its got a permantent slot on the "friends of pcb" section of my page. It's great to be able to make a post about this great great idea they've come up with.

This week the gang anounced an Ebay charity auction to benefit Smile Train, a charity that helps children with cleft lips and palates which is a major issue in developing countries. The winner of the auction will get to sit in on a recording of Never Not Funny and join Jimmy, Matt, and guest Pat Francis on mic for the question of the week. After the recording you'll be able to join the guys for lunch, their treat.

This is a great cause and it's really cool of Jimmy and the gang to offer such a fantastic bonus to helping out some kids.

I'd suggest subscribing to the show. It does cost just under $20 but in all honesty it's probably the best 20 bucks you'll spend.
