The Office Has a New Boss!

It's James Spader!

This fall Spader joins the cast as the new CEO of Dunder Mifflin. I won't say how that happens for fear of crossing into spoiler territory.

This actually might get me to watch the show since I am a huge fan of James Spader.

The Office returns with all new episodes this fall.

NBC Renews...

30 Rock!! Another season of genius and hilarity is on the way from Tina Fey and the gang.

Oh, they also gave early renewals to The Office and The Biggest Loser.

Ricky Gervais HBO Special!

He is best known for The Office or Extras but few people know that Ricky Gervais actually does stand up comedy as well.

So it's good news that he will have his American TV Stand-Up debut on November 15, when HBO airs his Out of England special. I saw Ricky on his American tour this summer and found it to be hilarious so do yourself a favor and watch this special.

Ghostbusters 3...It's Official!

Ghostbusters 3 is officially in the works.

"The Office" co-exec producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky have been hired to write a script for a film designed to bring back together the original cast of Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson.

The last film was released almost 20 years ago.

It's good to hear we're finally returning to a great franchise instead of just remaking it.

The Writer's Strike is on and already claiming some casualties. First effected? Late night shows included Jay Leno, David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report.

Latest news? Tina Fey, Julia Louis Dreyfus, as well as the cast of The Office, have walked off set and joined the picketers.

There is also a rumor that Tim Kring, creator of Heroes, has quit his own show in the face of demands from NBC execs to wrap up current story lines.

Something tells me that a lot of shows are going to take major hits from this.

Lets hope this gets resolved soon. Give the writers what they want. Without them you have no shows at all. You should be burying them in money.

The Premieres continue!

Tonight NBC rolls out Must See Thursday with the 1 Hour premieres of My Name is Earl, The Office, and ER. Of the three, I only watch ER. My Name is Earl is woefully unfunny and I am too much of a fan of the original Office to really enjoy the US Version. I'm looking forward to last years best new comedy 30 Rock which premieres next week with Jerry Seinfeld.

As well as CBS releasing Survivor: China, C.S.I, and Without A Trace. A night of mediocre drama if there ever was one.

Last night brought Private Practice, which I was looking forward to but did not watch yet.

I did however watch the premieres of Boston Legal and Reaper yesterday. Boston Legal was fantastic as usual. Again proving why it is one of the best shows on television.

Reaper, not so much. I must be missing something because I can't seem to understand why this is getting such rave reviews. At the same time, I can't really put my finger on what exactly I didn't like about it. Maybe it was the music. It seemed a bit...off. The cast was barely okay with the exception of the two main leads, Bret Harrison and Tyler Labine, who were very funny and spot on throughout the episode. Ray Wise did okay as the devil, I just didn't buy it. I didn't buy any of it to be honest. It was funny sure, but I think the show is missing something. I just can't seem to words to what it is...The ridiculous posters and ads don't help. Who approved that font? It's terrible.

Ill give it a couple more views before I make a final verdict but so far its one of the weaker shows that have premiered

Joss Still Has A Soft Spot For Ripper

iFmagazaine.com has an interview up with Anthony Stewart Head, of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. It mostly has some 'Hey! What are you up to lately?' and some view points on Heroes and other t.v. shows. Interesting tidbit though:

"iF: Do you and Joss still talk about THE WATCHER series?

HEAD: We talk about it. It’s not dead. I’d like to think that someday we might do something with it. We talk about it ad infinitum. [Laughs] We do talk about other stuff. He still says he’d love to do it sometime."

Hopefully we can get some more info for you at this years San Diego Comic Con.

In other Joss Whedon news, he will be returning to The Office to direct another episode. WOOT!
