Edit: Well this has gone down the Rabbit Hole. I'll get a new one up as soon as I can find one.
Edit 2: Let's try this:
IGN scored the first look at the new teaser trailer for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. It looks pretty great I have to say. Enjoy it before it gets yanked off YouTube!

If I am not mistaken this is the first really good luck of Mia Wasikowska as Alice, in Tim Burton's upcoming Alice in Wonderland.
I'm growing more and more interested in this film. The character designs are pretty interesting.

Here is a look at Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway as The White Queen (Plus a couple of artwork shots) in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.
I was almost against this until I saw these pictures. Beautiful.
Alice in Wonderland is coming to theaters next year.

I am both excited and terrified for this. I can't decide if it will be a disaster or not.
Also, it was announced that the film will be released in Imax 3D.
March 2010!

So I saw the new Michael Mann flick Public Enemies last night.
I won't write this out as a formal review because it was a work print and is not a completed product. So I'll keep it brief.
The movie is terrible. It's confusing and takes no time introducing any characters. Half the time I didn't know who anyone was so any references to characters were useless. I couldn't tell you who played who besides Depp and Bale. The film opens with text about the Great Depression but the movie has one scene that even seems to indicate any kind of depression is happening.
The plot is paper thin. It's basically Dillenger (Depp) robbing banks while falling in love with a girl and being chased by the feds. The problem is that it never feels like there is a coherent plot happening. It just seems like a series of scenes strung together that loosely relate to each other.
This is certainly Johnny Depp's movie. He does great as usual. Christian Bale has about a total of twenty minutes of screen time and to be honest I was not impressed with him at all.
It just didn't work for me. It didn't feel like a Michael Mann film at all. It felt like a movie trying to be great simply to garner good reviews. It's probably one of the worst Michael Mann movies I've seen, including Miami Vice.
With luck the movie can be saved with some serious editing and reshoots. It needs a LOT of work though.

Some interested rumors are popping up today.
Let's start with The Dark Knight sequel.
We've all heard the talk of Penguin and The Riddler appearing in the next Batman flick. In fact, The Penguin rumor has been around since 2006.
Recently, however, Michael Caine himself commented on this stating he heard from a Warner exec that Johnny Depp is go for Riddler and Phillip Seymour Hoffman is going to be The Penguin.
Grain of salt time.
This may come from Sir Michael Caine's mouth but who knows if its true or not. There is even talk that Christopher Nolan isn't coming back for the third film.
The other interesting rumor comes from another actor, this time Derek Luke, who says that the roll of Captain America has been offered to...
wait for it...
Will Smith.

This is coming from The Sun, so take it with a grain of salt. They're reporting that Johnny Depp will be reuniting with Tim Burton for his upcoming film Alice in Wonderland.
Depp will be playing The Mad Hatter!
If this is true it is genius casting.
This movie is getting more and more interesting.
