mmm me me me me me me me (like singing yknow?)

I started this site for a simple reason. I love Pop Culture. I wanted to share my enjoyment of movies and games and books and all of that with people who were interested in my opinions. I didn't really anticipate the things that might come along with it. Namely, exposure to things I probably would never have seen without this site. Different comics, books, and movies I'd rarely get the chance to see otherwise. One such movie is film version of the musical Naked Boys Singing.


Oh yes, it is exactly what it sounds like. A film version of the immensely popular stage musical from Robert Schrock and Troy Christian features a cast of guys completely naked and singing songs.

It's an easy movie to watch but a little hard to review. The cast are all attractive and you have to admire the skill to be able to sing in front of hundreds of people completely naked.

There isn't really a plot. It's 95 minutes of songs with a loose thread of being related to sex or love or uh...willies. Each song resonates and are really quite good. The cast are all able to carry themselves and a tune and I enjoyed pretty much every song. I laughed out loud and was grinning pretty much from beginning to end. There's a reason this has been a smash hit performed in over 40 cities, not to mention in six different languages around the world.

It's really a fun show. If you are able to watch guys naked for 95 minutes you'll enjoy it. Might be hard for the average straight guy to watch with his girlfriend but ya never know.

The songs are all really great. They're funny and charming and performed wonderfully.

I only had issue with some of the video tricks they added. Some special effects that come of a little cheesy. Just a minor complaint really. The songs and the actors make up for any small effect detraction.

TLA Releasing will distributing Naked Boys Singing! in limited release in the coming months.
