We Review "Tooned Up" Buffy!

Sideshow Collectibles was kind enough to send over this gem of a statue.

It is the Electric Tiki Design's "Tooned Up" Buffy.

Let's have a look at the stats:

- "Once More With Feeling" Version.
- Comes with 2 sets of hands for unique display.
- Limited to 1000 pieces.
- Approximately 12'' tall - 1/8 scale.
- Officially licensed.
- Fully painted, ready to display.
- Based on original "toon" designs by Tracy Mark Lee.

It really is a gorgeous statue. It's a glimpse of what might have been if the long gestating but never realized Buffy cartoon came to be. The statue looks perfect. It's a flawless sculpt and it gives me little stabs of joy whenever I look at it. (Can you tell I'm a major buffy fan?)

Out of the box, it's pretty much ready to go. You just attach Buffy to the base and choose the hands you want. You have the choice of an empty hand, stakes, or pool stick. Currently, my statue looks just like the picture on the left.

Each statue is hand cast in high quality polystone and hand painted and you can see the care in the statue. It's vibrant and pretty much looks like it jumped off an animation cell. The figures are individually numbered as well.

Any fan of Buffy will flip to get their hands on this statue. It's reasonably priced at around $90.
This combined with the "Tooned Up" Willow coming out this October, will make for a great display.

You really can't go wrong with this. It is a great statue. Detailed, vibrant, cute...I can list a lot of adjectives to describe how completely cool this thing is. Just buy it for yourself.

I can only hope we'll get more of these "Tooned Up" scoobies. I could go for a Tara, Anya, Xander, Spike, Angel, Fred, Cordelia...I would be satisified with all of the Buffy/Angel characters to be honest.

Don't get me started on Firefly...

And Leia Was Boushh

Ah toys. How I love them. I've never outgrown my love of action figures. I like all kinds. Comics, games, whatever.

But there is one type of toy that no matter what they do always seems to hit closer to home. Always peaks my interest and with force like skill pulls my wallet from my pocket.

Star Wars toys.

Whether its silly little Galactic Heroes or Master Replica Light Sabers. I love all of them.

Now, I recently received a package with Sideshow Collectibles. Inside was black box with Heroes of the Rebellion on the top and a picture of Princess Leia as Boussh.

Glorious.

Check out the figure stats:

  • Fully articulated female body with 30+ points of articulation
  • Authentic likeness of Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia Organa
  • Detailed costume including:
    • Jacket
    • Undershirt
    • Pants
    • Waistband
    • Belt
    • Traditional Ubese Boots
    • Ogygian Cloak
    • Bandolier
    • Impact Armor Mantle with canister pack
  • Accessories including:
    • Boushh helmet - interchangeable with Leia portrait
    • Thermal Detonator
    • Electrostaff
    • Gloved hands with spike detail
  • 12-Inch Figure Display Base with Star Wars logo
It's a stunning figure. The look is flawless. I've never been too big a fan of 12-inch figures. I personally only own 1 other, Freddy Krueger from New Nightmare (also from Sideshow). That one is a great one as well.

The detail of Leia as Boushh is perfect. Maybe Sideshow developed Willy Wonka like technology and pulled her right off the screen. The clothes, the weapons, I can't find a single fault. They even have a little homage on the helmet. I'll let you find it for yourself when you buy it.

This figure would make a fantastic centerpiece for any star wars fan out there. It is inexpensive and easily displayable.

Keep it in the great box, complete with magnetic sealing to keep it closed, or use the Star Wars display it comes with.

This is just the start of what I hope is a lot more coverage of various toys.

For more information on the Leia as Boushh figure, head over to Sideshow Collectibles!

Get it while you can, it's limited to 6500 pieces.
