HBO Slices and Dices!

 
HBO has taken the axe to three of its shows today announcing that Hung, How To Make It In America and the excellent Bored To Death have all been canceled.  Apparently, this is to make room for new shows including Lucky and Veep.

Low rated and Golden Globe nominated comedy Enlightened has been renewed.

Canceled! New Shows Booted Plus Some Pickups!

Word is coming in that NBC has pulled the plug on The Playboy Club and Free Agents (boo),  just a week after saying they won't be canceling any new shows just yet. What a difference a week makes I guess.

Additionally, CBS has canceled How To Be A Gentleman.   It's okay, I didn't know what it was either but I have heard that it was awful.

Fans of shows New Girl, Up All Night, 2 Broke Girls and Whitney can relax as all four of them have received full season orders.

I don't believe any new dramas have been given full season orders just yet.

Besides, The Walking Dead starts up in a couple weeks so nothing else matters anyway.

ABC Cancels All My Children and One Life To Live

An end of an era and another nail in the coffin that is the daytime drama as ABC has announced legendary shows All My Children and One Life To Live will end their historic runs. Children will end in September while Life closes doors in January.  A combined 83 years of television gone just like that.

General Hospital remains on the air, as the last ABC daytime drama, but for how long is anyone's guess.

The two dramas are being replaced by two horrible sounding talk shows: The Revolution and The Chew.

Dollhouse Closes Its Doors

In a move that probably shocks no one, Fox has canceled Joss Whedon's Dollhouse.

Sure this is one of two shows Fox has that is even worth turning the TV on for, the other being Glee, but it's ratings were low and hey, it's Fox and it's Joss Whedon. We're lucky we even got a season two. Early word is that the show will finish it's 13 Episode run and Joss will be able to give it a proper send off.

Hopefully the repeated beatings Fox gives Joss will keep him from returning to the network in the future.

So Long Sarah Connor?

The internet is swarming with news that The Sarah Connor Chronicles is almost assuredly being canceled. It 's even hit the site of TV Guru Michael Ausiello, and if he says it, you can pretty much take it as fact.

Fox reps say that no decision has been made nor will an announcement be made until they announce the fall schedule on May 18, but that's pretty much just delaying the inevitable.

This is sad news. I really enjoyed the show. Chock this down as yet another Sci Fi show that Fox mishandled.

On another note, I'm not sure how this bodes for Dollhouse.

Prison Broke

We called this a while ago and now it's official. Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly has announced that Prison Break "is just played out," and will be canceled after the next four to six episodes.

ABC Unleashes the reaper on three shows!

ABC has given the axe, albeit unofficially, to three of their shows: Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, and the cult favorite Pushing Daisies. Each show will not exceed 13 episodes. Both Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone have completed production while Pushing Daisies finishes up next week.

Ouch.

Stargate: Atlantis Sunk

Word is out that The SciFi Channel as axed Stargate Atlantis. Well the series at least. It's not the end of the world for Stargate fans as apparently the show will continue on with direct-to-dvd movies, similar to Stargate SG1. The first movie will wrap up the cliffhanger of the series' final episode.
