                                                Meek Mill's Dream-Chasers 3 Review

Yesterday Maybach Music Group's up & coming artist Meek Mill teamed up with DJ Drama again to release his much anticipated mixtape, Dream-Chasers 3. The follow up to the immensely successful DC2, which was released last summer before Meek's debut album; Dreams & Nightmares, has been on the wanted list for his rap fans. With 16 tracks for his fans, (2 tracks are skits and one features Meek's departed artist Lil Snupe), Meek Mill's brings his usual drug & gun raps along w/ money talk that has made him one of the urban youth's favorite lyricist.




Dream-Chasers 3 boasts production from “super producer” Scott Storch, Key Wane, Cardo and Boi-1da, and also features guest appearances from Grand Hustle's Travis $cott, (produced 'clique' for GOOD's compilation album Cold Summer), Future, constant collaborator, Bad Boy's French Montana, Young Money's Nicki Minaj, whew! Still more to go, With features from rap veterans Jadakiss and Fabolous, MMG head Rick Ross, Cash Money's Birdman, even Diddy & Mase make appearances, (although Diddy doesn't rap).




With all the special guests you'd think Meek would be overseen, on the contrary; Meek Mill takes every song a makes it his, regardless of who else is on the song with him. In the song “Make Me”, Meek raps of his indifference towards “Haters” and anyone wishing him ill will, in fact, he credits them with making him whi he is. The song “Ain't Me” which features Yo Gotti & Omelly, Meek switches his rapping style into a more melodic folw in which he partially sings his verse, making me think of this as a possible street single. “Hip Hop” has a very gritty sound to it, in the song Meek reminisces about his life back in his neighborhood before he got the record deal as a smooth beat keeps his rhythm going along with it. “Heaven or Hell” featuring Guordan Banks singing the chorus perfectly over a beat derivative of the Luniz's “I Got 5 On It”, which leads into Meek & Jadakiss' immaculate verses.




All in all, I'd rate Meek Mill's Dream-Chasers 3 a four star or four and a half mixtape, if you don't like to hear gutter rap this tape might not be for you, but, it does go pretty good with the hipsters so there you go, to be hip you have to assimilate. In this tape I didn't see Meek's formula change drastically, although I will say, I would have loved to hear a song with Rockie Fresh and Meek.
