Holiday Guide: Top 5 Books!

Merry Christmas, everybody!  And welcome to another installment in the PCB Holiday Guides.  We know it's close to the deadline, but that's okay, just blame the late delivery on Obamacare.  Our staff has already brought you Holiday Guides on GAMING and BOARD GAMES, but for "Trehern Reads" fans (all one of you...), I figured I'd do a Top 5 Book Gifts.  It's always great to give the gift that keeps on giving; and make sure if any of these books catch your fancy, click through on the links!!

5. George Washington's Secret Six: The Spy Ring That Saved the American Revolution by Brian Kilmeade (Amazon Price: $14.00 )
This book looks really metal.  I mean, if George Washington wasn't cool enough already, now it sounds like he started the first organized, American espionage task force.  Washington is also famous for his domination of cherry trees, whooping ass across the Delaware and perfecting his own recipe of rye whiskey that could blind a Kentuckian.  And with a price this low, it's totally worth the investment for such an adventure.
4. The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism by Doris Kearns Goodwin (Amazon Price: $24.00)
Keeping with the presidential vibe, another American badass was Teddy Roosevelt.  A new book by Doris Kearns Goodwin examines the early Twentieth Century and its politics, with Roosevelt and Taft as the protagonists.  Future Chief Justice Taft and Teddy were both Republicans who ran against each other in 1912, split on where the party should be going!  And with the author of Team of Rivals at the helm, you know this is going to be jam-packed with research and and possibly a future blockbuster!!  Check it out!
3. Still Foolin' 'Em: Where I've Been, Where I'm Going, and Where the Hell Are My Keys? by Billy Crystal (Amazon Price: $17.00 )
I think Billy Crystal's pretty funny, and I love him in The Princess Bride.  He also had a stint on SNL and that When Harry Met Sally film that everyone is always quoting.  And lest we forget City Slickers 2: Curly's Gold!  I like a good biography, and this one looks hilarious.  If it's not your cup of tea, check out the other biographies I have on the list...

2. Jim Henson: The Biography by Brian Jay Jones (Amazon Price: $22.00 )
If you don't like Jim Henson and the Muppets, you are a soulless heathen not meant for this world.  Making a comeback, the Muppets have been part of the pop culture zeitgeist for almost 50 years.  But one of the happiest and saddest stories is that of Jim Henson, who died way too young.  His creativity and legacy though left so much wonder for the rest of us.  I am truly excited to pick this one up!
1. Let Me Off at the Top!: My Classy Life and Other Musings by Ron Burgundy (Amazon Price: $11.00 )
And what would the holidays be like without Ron Burgundy?  What would life be like without Ron Burgundy?  It seems like yesterday that Anchorman hit theaters, and I am so excited to see Anchorman 2.  But how do I harness that musky, Burgundy scent when I'm NOT watching his movies?  Buy his book, of course!!  Check this out if you need something to laugh and enjoy with friends.  And if you get a little tail along the way?  Gravy.

What other books do you think should be on the list?  What are you giving for the holidays??  More specifically, what are you giving ME for the holidays???  Leave your thoughts/insults in the comments section below.
