One of the biggest blockbusters of 2013 was director Alfonso Cuaron's "Gravity."
The film stars Sandra Bullock who delivers an Academy Award nominated performance and George Clooney who plays a smaller but pivotal part in Bullock's journey to survive the meteor storm that has left her stranded in space.
From a technical stand point "Gravity" is a 10 out of 10 filled with spectacular special effects that really come to life on the Blu-Ray 3D edition. The film gets you hooked in from the start and Bullock's lone performance makes the viewer feel like we are right by her side.
On the other hand, Clooney's performance feels phoned in. Clooney plays a cocky space walker who is so overly confident that you never fully connect with his character. After the initial collision the rest of the movie is filled with complication after complication and ends up being a pretty straight forward survival film without many layers.
As a piece of popcorn cinema "Gravity" is perfection on the big screen and at home via the 3D Blu-Ray but if you are looking for something more you might not find it here.
Drumroll please... 7 out of 10 drumsticks!!!
