Concert Review: Rick Springfield "Stripped Down" LIVE @ The Broad Stage Santa Monica, CA 5/11/2014

Last night before a capacity crowd at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica, CA Rick Springfield proved why his career as a musician and actor has endured for over 40 years.

Armed with only 5 guitars, a stool and a microphone Springfield regaled the audience for almost 2 hours with stories of his life and how these experiences have always directly influence his song writing.  Springfield was funny, charming and most importantly honest about every aspect of his personal life and career.

Was there music?  Yes!  Rick weaved hits, deep album cuts and cover tunes throughout his 18 song set that left casual fans as well as diehard fanatics thoroughly satisfied.

The show ended with a brief Q & A from the audience and although those questions were a hodge lodge of hits and misses Springfield handled them all like a pro.

Rick Springfield "Stripped Down" was a definite must see show for me and when Rick brings this show to a town near you I highly recommend it.

Drumroll please... 9 out of 10 drumsticks!!!
