Blu-Ray Review - "The Lego Movie"

The phrase "Everything is awesome!" could not be more perfect than when describing the upcoming home video release of "The Lego Movie."

Awesome animation, awesome story and awesome voice talent.  Chris Pratt perfectly embodies the character of Emmet Brickowski.  Emmet is just an ordinary Lego figure who enjoys each and every ordinary day.  Pratt voices Emmet with a wide-eyed innocence that kids (and not so grown up adults) will relate to.

Big named talent such as Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson plus comedic talents Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks and Nick Offerman round out the cast.  Others offering guest voice cameos include Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Cobie Smulders who appear as Superman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman.  Will Ferrell does double duty as the over the top voice of Lord Business and as the understated Dad in a live action sequence near the end of the film that just might just bring a tear to your eye.

The animation is perfection and the creators have done an amazing job as "The Lego Movie" captures the Lego world much better than "Wreck-It Ralph" did with the arcade world.

As with any movie the set-up for a potential sequel is inevitable but the one they came up at the end of "The Lego Movie" is among the best teases I have ever seen for a family friendly film.

The Blu-Ray "Everything Is Awesome" Edition includes a Vituvius mini figure, Collectible 3D Emmet photo and a bonus 3D movie.

Drumroll please... 9 out of 10 drumsticks!!!
