Concert Review - Ted Nugent LIVE @ The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA 7/11/2014

You may not agree with Ted Nugent's political views (I certainly do not) but you do have to agree that the 66 year-old guitarist sure does ROCK! Last night "Uncle Ted" took the stage in front of a sold out Canyon Club crowd and proved that reaching retirement age has not slowed him down one bit.

Joined by original "Ted Nugent Band" singer/guitarist Derek St. Holmes plus rhythm section Greg Smith (Alice Cooper) on bass and Mick Brown (Dokken) on drums Nugent barreled through a 14 song set list that included classics such as "Free For All," "Just What The Doctor Ordered," "Wango Tango" and "Cat Scratch Fever."

The band was firing on all cylinders last night with most of the crowd on their feet throughout.  Derek St. Holmes' singing and playing sounded as good as it did in the 70's and Ted Nugent is still an amazing guitar player who's fingers move as quickly as his fast talking lips.

The tour coincides with the release of Nugent's 14th studio album "Shutup&Jam!" and if I had one critique it would be that Ted should do a little less talking on stage and a lot more playing.  Had he actually just "shut up and jammed" he could have easily played a 20 song set!

Drumroll please...  8 out of 10 venison steaks!!!
