Shailene Woodley has been cut from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. She was set to star as Mary Jane Watson, future girlfriend/wife/forgotten memory of Peter Parker.
Director Marc Webb says:
I made a creative decision to streamline the story and focus on Peter and Gwen and their relationship. Shailene is an incredibly talented actress and while we only shot a few scenes with Mary Jane, we all love working with her."
Well, there you have it. They shot some scenes but cut her out to concentrate on Peter and Gwen. Will she be in part 3? I guess we'll find out in a couple years.
Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters next summer!
