Okay, not exactly. This is actually a look at the toy design that NECA is producing for the films release.

We'll have towait abit longer to get a better glimpse of Mr. Krueger in action.

Movie Trailer: A Nightmare On Elm Street

Yes! This is a great start. I am more than interested in seeing this now. That last shot is a little iffy for me but I don't think that is his real look.

There is some terrific imagery in this teaser.

Great stuff.

Movie Trailer: Never Sleep Again - The Elm Street Legacy

I can't wait to see this movie. It's out next year and promises to be quite comprehensive.

Also, its great to have Heather Langenkamp back in the realm of nightmares!

Movie Poster: A Nightmare On Elm Street

Yesterday, we brought you the new logo and first shot of Freddy Krueger for the upcoming Platinum Dunes remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street. Now, we have the teaser poster. I'm not exactly positive if this is an official poster or just a comic-con teaser but it's pretty damn cool regardless.

I'm regretting canceling this years con trip more and more.

Check out the bigger version at the Source.

Welcome to a New Nightmare

This is the first look at Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger and I have to say from this one shot my excitement for this movie has skyrocketed.

So far so good.

A Nightmare on Elm Street arrives in April.

And the new Freddy Krueger is...

Word is out that Platinum Dunes has found the new Freddy Krueger for their upcoming remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street. Krueger will be played by none other than improv impresario and Whose Line Is It Anyway star, Ryan Stiles.

Stiles comments, "This is a dream come true. My years doing stand up and Improvisation comedy have prepared me for the role of a life time: A psychopathic child killer who is burnt alive and kills teenagers in their sleep. Today, I am a proud man."

Gobstopper Trailer

What if Willy Wonka was a slasher?

Oh and for those of you who don't know what a slasher is, I refer you to the brilliant comic Hack/Slash. A slasher is a killer akin to Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Jason Vorhees, etc.

Freddy may have his Nancy! (UPDATED)

It appears that Lindsay Lohan may have been cast in a lead role in the upcoming remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Reports are even indicating that the producers have confirmed this. I can't say for sure if this is accurate or not. We haven't even heard what role she has been cast in just that it is a lead role. So is she Nancy? Assuming there is even a Nancy character in the remake.

I like Lindsay Lohan so I'm not entirely against this casting. We'll see what happens.

UPDATE: FALSE!! Lindsay Lohan has currently NOT been cast in the film.

Nightmare Redux

Well, it's official. Platinum Dunes producers Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are going to be involved in the reboot of the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise.

"It's our next movie," confirmed Form, "hopefully shooting this spring."

Brad Fuller states: "It's like what we're doing to Friday the 13th," He goes on to say, "It's not Freddy cracking jokes. We want to make a horrifying movie. The concept is so scary, don't fall asleep or you'll die. This guy gets you when you're most vulnerable, in your sleep. We love that. That's the basis of the movie. It'll be most similar to the first one but in terms of kills and dreams we'll borrow from the entire series."

They also mentioned they want someone new to play Freddy Krueger but want Robert Englund to have some sort of part in the film.

Sigh.

I mean honestly, if a remake had to be done, Platinum Dunes are the folks to do it. Still...I'm nervous about this...really nervous.

Is the Nightmare remake/prequel dead?

It appears that Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes shingle is off the recently announced Nightmare on Elm Street remake. As it stands now, the project is floating in the air.

Wes Craven recently commented, "I [still] know very little about it. My agent and I had lunch with Bob Shaye (Ex New Line head) about five days ago. But as might you know New Line Cinema has been shut down by Warner Bros. who owns it and all of their properties have been subsumed by Warner Bros. Bob didn't know any more about it than I did. I certainly have no control over that property."

Maybe we can hold out for a true sequel rather than a remake? I'd like to see the original series wrapped up in a satisfactory way rather than reboot it from start.

Warners, I have a great idea to end it. Call me!

Best Freddy Statue Ever?

It's beauuutiiifuulll...

Coming this fall (November) from Gentle Giant. This incredibly detailed and highly chilling statue is 7 inches of pure awesome. I've never been creeped out by a statue before but the combination of Freddy and those dolls...and him with that shooshing pose...yikes.

You can preorder it now from GG or from Big Bad Toy Store for about $30 less.

Thanks to our friends at Tomopop for bringing this to our attention!
