When an Oscar nominated director like Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, The Mist) creates a television show about zombies on AMC (The same network that produced Breaking Bad and Mad Men), people take notice.
The Walking Dead is adapted from Robert Kirkman's comics series of the same name.
This is a dream come true for zombiephiles because no matter how good a zombie movie is, there is never an ending and the viewer is always left wanting more. With this series the audience will only have to wait a week till its next zombie fix. Even after the series ends, the fans of the show will be able to pick up the story (If they so please) with the comics series (and it goes on a for a long time).
The series premieres on AMC on Halloween. Sunday, October 31st at 10/9 C
Visit the Official Website at http://www.amctv.com/originals/The-Walking-Dead/ for more pictures and news.
For other zombie goodness, I also recommend reading Day By Day Armageddon, Monster Island and The Zombie Survival Guide (Be Prepared and if you want, you can be on my team after the Zombie Apocalypse hits).

Awesome. I have never seen this in a tv series concept. I recently watched "Survivors" on BBC based on a viral outbreak. Also great, but it was sadly cancelled. I hope this show has has a good ending & isn't cancelled.
I imagine it will go on as long as Frank Darabont believes it should go. I see it going for at least two seasons. If we're really lucky three seasons.
