Arnold: @Terminator Genisys Wraps!

"Can someone bring me my prune juice and a COOOKKKIIEEEEE...!!!!"
Ho. Ly. Shit! Paramount Pictures gets it, readers, and they understand how important it is to get another Schwarzenegger/T-800 flick back on screen before this glorious era of action stars is dead and gone.  The Terminator franchise has such a rich mythology, and although folks may rag on some of its recent incarnations (Terminator: Salvation, Sarah Connor Chronicles), these stories are fantastic and need to continue.

Enter Terminator: Genisys, the fifth installment in the series.  I'm super excited!  And yeah, I'm ecstatic that an old Arnold is back in the movies; so sue me.  I really liked The Last Stand, and he's really taking his comeback seriously, playing with fans and trying to deliver on what his fanbase cries out for!  It's like he was a politician or something!!  Here's just a few words from the man himself:
Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup - we couldn't have done it without you. I can't wait to see our finished project and I know we'll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I'll be back.
And bet on ME being back in that theater seat, dudes.

Terminator Genisys stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-Hun Lee, and JK Simmons.

#COMMUNITY returns to Yahoo! Screen @CommunityTV

NOTE: This is NOT an official press release photo.  It's just THAT good.
Everybody has been wondering, and now you know.  Community, that show on NBC that everyone talks about watching but never really does, has gone from cancellation to...not Hulu...not Netflix...not Crackle...BUT YAHOO SCREEN!

According to Yahoo! Celebrity:
Studio Sony Pictures Television has revived Dan Harmon's cult comedy series for 13 new episodes to launch in the fall on Yahoo Screen, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. [Source]
Even Dan Harmon had some kind words to say:
“I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its pre-destined sixth season on Yahoo.  I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!” [Source]
To be honest, I didn't even know there was such a thing as Yahoo! Screen.  To be even more honest, I highly doubted the fact that Yahoo! was still online!  Egg on my face!!  So if you're a fan of Community, congratulations!  If you're not a fan of Community, don't worry, you can meet your brethren in the Yahoo! message boards.

Sound off your thoughts in the comments section below, and safe travels!

#TMNT News for June 2014

This week is pretty big for the Ninja Turtles, or as the 21st century is calling them for some reason, the TMNT.  Michael Bay, surfing off the hot praise of his new Trans4ormers movie, is reintroducing my beloved heroes in a half shell as kinda weird-looking monsters in his produced incarnation out this August.  And we have a trailer!  And more exciting news below the jump!!

Trehern Reads: #StarWars Vector Prime

It has been a long time since I sat among my many leather-bound books and chose a tome worth perusing.  But this night, I find myself weary of the day's travels and must lounge to take in my many thoughts and relax with a good novel.

Ah, an installment in the Star Wars Expanded Universe!  Perfect.  These always take me to high adventure and the depths of uneplored space.  Nope, wait this sucks balls...

New @NeonTrees Album #PopPsychology Out Now!

Just hanging brain; NBD.
I'm a pretty big fan of Neon Trees, ever since they came out with hits like "Animal" and "1983" (Habits), then they went on tour with Owl City and Maroon 5 while the song "Everybody Talks" (Picture Show) was on everybody's radio.  It was a good time had by all.  Let's see if those good times can keep going with NT's newest outing, Pop Psychology!  Check below the jump for thoughts and tour dates!!

NEW @Amazon Fire TV!

Howdy folks! Welcome to Tech Talk with Trehern!!  Just kidding, that would be awful.  But I did want to let the Beasts know of the upcoming Amazon Fire TV!  Presumably an alternative to Apple TV or the Roku, the new Fire TV:
"...is a tiny box that plugs into your HDTV. It's the easiest way to enjoy Netflix, Prime Instant Video, Hulu Plus, WatchESPN, low-cost video rentals, and more. With instant access to over 200,000 TV episodes and movies, plus all your favorite subscriptions and streaming services, you can watch what you want, when you want. If you're a Prime member, you get unlimited access to thousands of popular movies and TV shows, including exclusives like Downton Abbey, The Americans, Alpha House, and Under the Dome."
-- Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos
Gaming is also possible on this new hardware, with downloadable games and even a controller!  The price listing is $99.00!  And if I can get a free one (**wink wink, Bezos**), I could even review it someday.  Right now, I couldn't give you an honest opinion on its operation or its potential specs; but it sure looks nice!

Notes:
[1] Official Letter of Endorsement from Bezos found at Amazon.com

#ThePrettyReckless and @TaylorMomsen are "GOING TO HELL" on MARCH 18, 2014

Who wouldn't buy this album?! #Giggity
Reviewed by Alan Trehern (@AlanTrehern!)

I've finally been introduced to the Pretty Reckless and the soft, ghostly voice of Taylor Momsen.  And I must say, "I AM TOTALLY READY FOR THIS!"  The band's second album, Going to Hell, is hitting shelves and iTunes on 18 March 2014 through Razor & Tie records, and let's just be up front about this: the album is a total blast!  If only Danté had this in his Walkman when he entered the Seventh Circle!  He'd of been in a totally better mood!!  Click past the jump for the full review!

Journey Album Art: Science Fiction?

"The Voice" looks over the universe he hath founded...
Welcome to another installment of useless articles that cover such minutia that it attracts the fewest readers possible; or you know, Trehern's stuff in a nutshell.  In the last year or so, I've been on a long quest to grab all the old Journey albums; I love deep tracks, and since I know all the radio hits, I figured I'd also learn the lesser known Journey ballads.

But let's place the great music aside for a moment, and just focus on those album covers.  Holy damn!  What the hell do all these mean??  They're like hieroglyphics telling the Genesis story of some far off planet!  Is the discography of the Journey/Perry albums hiding some mysterious science fiction story?  Probably not, but let's attempt to perceive the unperceivable anyway...

"God's End" Motion Comic by @EliotHochberg et al. #Superman

Good friend of the site Eliot Hochberg is back!  And this time he's animated, edited and produced music for the motion comic God's End, which features a pretty well-known superhero, if never officially referred to directly.

When I first decided to watch and write about God's End, I had no clue what to expect.  I come across ALOT of crap, especially concerning comic books; I'm also a pretty big stickler when it comes to motion comics.  My first introduction to the motion comic genre was a lesser-known piece called Broken Saints.  The trailer for it was suspenseful, scary and all-around cool to look at.  God's End achieves these same qualities!

Album Review: "Split" by Michael Wayne

One of the things I love about being a blogger is that you get to read about a bunch of different people.  And sometimes, if you're lucky, you get to write about them too!  You see a lot of stuff on the Internet; and sometimes, glory is born out of nothing.  Music labels have big money and big radio, but here in the blogosphere we're all kinda on equal ground.  And here at PCB, I try to help out rising artists in any way I can!  So here's my look at Split, a new music release from Michael Wayne!

Top 5 Arizona Tea Flavors

By Alan Trehern (follow me on Twitter!)

Welcome to the new year everybody! And no new year would be complete without the first Top 5 list here at PCB.  And we have something wonderful to celebrate!!  My two favorite podcasting empires have merged: Earwolf.com and the pioneer of podcasts, Never Not Funny.  So to honor the guys over at Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast, I wanted to give them my Top 5 Arizona tea flavors, the (un)official drink of NNF.  I've been drinking Arizona tea for a looooong time, and I was super excited to see Pardo's show make a push towards this most excellent product. I've tried the Arnold Palmers, the green teas, and of course the Shaquille O'Neill sodas, so I'm pretty sure I'm an expert in ranking these delicious refreshments.  So let's get started!

Holiday Guide: Top 5 Books!

Merry Christmas, everybody!  And welcome to another installment in the PCB Holiday Guides.  We know it's close to the deadline, but that's okay, just blame the late delivery on Obamacare.  Our staff has already brought you Holiday Guides on GAMING and BOARD GAMES, but for "Trehern Reads" fans (all one of you...), I figured I'd do a Top 5 Book Gifts.  It's always great to give the gift that keeps on giving; and make sure if any of these books catch your fancy, click through on the links!!

#Trehern Reads: #Raylan by Elmore Leonard

Let's read something that doesn't have dudes in spandex.
When Justified premiered on the air back in 2010, I became a pretty big fan.  It has all the western, cop drama and action/adventure that Trehern thinks watchable in any medium.  The main character of the television series, Raylan Givens, first appeared in a few novels, but it was the short story "Fire in the Hole" that FX used to jump-start their new drama.  Elmore Leonard, Raylan's literary creator, loved the show so much he penned a new novel in 2012: Raylan!

Trehern Reads: Uncanny #XMen #294 (1992)

Does anyone else think "Cleveland steamer" when they see this cover?
Let's switch over to Marvel Comics for a week.  And I don't mean the media-heavy, Disney-owned, entertainment JUGGERNAUT known as Marvel Studios today; I'm talking early 1990s Marvel where anything and everything could happen.  Dreams could come true, characters weren't dying and being resurrected and we were still living in the best era of comic books.

If you remember the 90s, you know one of the best cartoons was the X-Men series.  And this issue of Uncanny X-Men came out the same year!  Stan Lee was advertising it IN THE COMIC BOOK!!  So cool.  So if you're ready to throw cards with Gambit, ride lightning with Storm and check out Rogue's finely toned body suit, meet me after the jump!!

Trehern Reads: KISS: Psycho Circus #5

Don't even try to understand this cover, homes.
Yeah, you read right!  Trehern is back after a pretty long October hiatus; rebooting podcasts isn't as easy as it used to be, fella!  Anyway, over the course of October, I've managed to READ even more sh*tty comics and slipped in some actual print literature to boot!  And to start off Novemeber I thought it proper to introduce you to the lowest rated comic in TREHERN READS' history: KISSPsycho Circus #5...

Pat (as Paul Stanley): THIS SOUNDS SENSATIONAL!!

SPOILER ALERT: It's not.

#CBBTV: Season 1 DVD Releasing Jan 21st

NOTE: That afro is NOT Photoshopped.
If you're a fan of the immensely popular podcast, or if you've never heard of Comedy BANG! BANG! before, LOOK OUT!  Because the first hit season is hitting shelves and laserdisc players on JANUARY 21, 2014!!

I, Alan Trehern, am one of the lucky fictional people to be followed by Comedy BANG! BANG! on Twitter (@comedyBANGBANG), and I am a die-hard fan of the podcast and the television program.  CBB TV is unpredictable, quirky, improvised and F*CKING ridiculous, just like the flagship Earwolf.com podcast.  In their inaugural season on IFC, host Scott Auckerman (Fist Puncherman...) and bandleader Reggie Watts welcome guests like Amy Poehler, Jon Hamm, Tenacious D, Aziz Ansari, the vivacious Elizabeth Banks (call me.) and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber!

Trehern Reads: Silver Surfer #50

You're some of the luckiest blog readers alive, because this week I have a classic comic book from the Marvel Universe...  And from the 1990s.  And it features a character near and dear to our hearts that got the sub-par Hollywood treatment a few years ago: the Silver Surfer!  He's one of Jack Kirby's Top 5 Best Kreations, so let's see how well he surfs in this week's installment of TREHERN READS: Silver Surfer #50!

Trehern Reads: Birds of Prey #93

The pipe actually came with the comics...
Welcome to another installment of TREHERN READS!!  This week, we dig further into the muddy swamp muck of DC with a pull from the One Year Later series.  After Infinite Crisis, a new series called 52 was well on its way, which would reveal the "lost year" between Infinite Crisis and the stories being told One Year Later.  It was ground-breaking and interesting to see develop, but DC soon abandoned all hope and took to the reboot hell of recent years.  But before all that, there was Birds of Prey #93!!
