Arnold: @Terminator Genisys Wraps!

"Can someone bring me my prune juice and a COOOKKKIIEEEEE...!!!!"
Ho. Ly. Shit! Paramount Pictures gets it, readers, and they understand how important it is to get another Schwarzenegger/T-800 flick back on screen before this glorious era of action stars is dead and gone.  The Terminator franchise has such a rich mythology, and although folks may rag on some of its recent incarnations (Terminator: Salvation, Sarah Connor Chronicles), these stories are fantastic and need to continue.

Enter Terminator: Genisys, the fifth installment in the series.  I'm super excited!  And yeah, I'm ecstatic that an old Arnold is back in the movies; so sue me.  I really liked The Last Stand, and he's really taking his comeback seriously, playing with fans and trying to deliver on what his fanbase cries out for!  It's like he was a politician or something!!  Here's just a few words from the man himself:
Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup - we couldn't have done it without you. I can't wait to see our finished project and I know we'll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I'll be back.
And bet on ME being back in that theater seat, dudes.

Terminator Genisys stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-Hun Lee, and JK Simmons.

Congrats to @ReadingRainbow and @levarburton!

KICKSTART HERE!

Well, they don't need much help anymore!  After hearing the big news that PCB met their Kickstarter requirements (!), Star Trek alum and Reading Rainbow host LeVar Burton decided to follow suit by kickstarting RR into every classroom and home in the world!  A big endeavor, for sure!

They've met their $1,000,000 goal, and it's still funding!!  But his message is clear: kids who never learn to read properly grow up into adults that cannot read properly, resulting in chaos, societal breakdown and cumbersome small talk.  So if your love Reading Rainbow, keep your eye out for its return soon!

But you don't have to tak- **slapped with lawsuit**

Uhh, yeah, see you next time.

NEW @Amazon Fire TV!

Howdy folks! Welcome to Tech Talk with Trehern!!  Just kidding, that would be awful.  But I did want to let the Beasts know of the upcoming Amazon Fire TV!  Presumably an alternative to Apple TV or the Roku, the new Fire TV:
"...is a tiny box that plugs into your HDTV. It's the easiest way to enjoy Netflix, Prime Instant Video, Hulu Plus, WatchESPN, low-cost video rentals, and more. With instant access to over 200,000 TV episodes and movies, plus all your favorite subscriptions and streaming services, you can watch what you want, when you want. If you're a Prime member, you get unlimited access to thousands of popular movies and TV shows, including exclusives like Downton Abbey, The Americans, Alpha House, and Under the Dome."
-- Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos
Gaming is also possible on this new hardware, with downloadable games and even a controller!  The price listing is $99.00!  And if I can get a free one (**wink wink, Bezos**), I could even review it someday.  Right now, I couldn't give you an honest opinion on its operation or its potential specs; but it sure looks nice!

#Flash TV Series in the Running!

Flash: TFMA #12 (2007)
Art by Tony S. Daniel

What started out as rumors this week turned into official news when CW announced a spin-off series from Arrow that will feature the fastest man alive, the Scarlet Speedster, FLASH!
“We plan to introduce the recurring character of Barry Allen who is the Flash,” [CW president Mark] Pedowitz told reporters. “We’re planning an origin story and we’ll see how it goes. We do want to expand on [the] DC Universe, and we felt this is a very organic way to get there.” - SpeedForce.org
For those of you that know the DC Universe well enough, Flash is one of those titular characters that hasn't really been treated the best in other mediums.  In the comic books, he's bad ass as hell, with a history that spans 70+ years.  But once you start talking about movies and TV shows, the Flash is the fastest in getting cancelled...  Take the 1990 series starring John Wesley Snipes (actually, it's Shipp); not even nostalgia can save that pile of death sharts!  But of course Smallville gets 10 SEASONS cause durpah durpah Superman!

I've been reading up on this story all week, and many are contemplating if the DCTVU will be in the DCCU (DC Cinema Universe).  Will films like Man of Steel and Man of 2teel be in the same continuity as Arrow and Flash?  Perhaps, though that's a huge task.  This forces ALL the writers to be on the same page, which may limit creativity and story elements...  They did it with Star Trek in the 80s though!

For more information on the Flash and his awesome Rogues gallery, travel over to Flash: Those Who Ride the Lightning.  And let us know in the comments section what your perfect DC movie/TV continuity would look like.

#SDCC: #Superman vs. #Batman vs. #Predator

Breaking news coming out of the San Diego Comic Convention hit ears yesterday; some may find this breaking movie news simply interesting, others may feel it more important than Man landing on the moon.  Depending on who you talk to, though, mention Batman and Superman in the same sentence, and things get heinous.  People will literally start throwing punches over who is better [1].  With DC Entertainment's announcement yesterday, however, we can finally all relax and break bread together because the two DC juggernauts are going to appear in an upcoming movie TOGETHER (Man of Steel 2, or Man of 2teel). OOOOH WAH AH AH AH!!!!

This opens up the door to a myriad of possibilities!  I (Alan Trehern) don't want to jump to Crisis on Infinite Earths storylines, but seriously, what are they waiting for?  You're halfway there!  Just get an Earth-2 going and you're money.  In all seriousness, I'm just happy to see DC get their act together and start organizing the way Marvel does cinematically.  Also, let's see Scarlett Johansson as Supergirl; a total no brainer.

What are your thoughts on the new crossover?  Will they manage an epic, or will we have retractable ice-skates slash our faces all over again?

The #SDCC Escape Plan

PCB News: Where we keep you up to date on aging action stars and where they plan to rest their oxygen tanks during Comic-Con.  If you're planning on making the trip to stand in line for hours with the considerably unwashed masses, you may want to consider a special screening of ESCAPE PLAN, hosted by Ah-nuld Schwarzenegger and Sly Stallone.  According to IGN.com:
The special screening will take place at the Reading Cinemas Gaslamp 15 on Thursday, July 18. How do you get in, you ask? Passes for the event will be available through online giveaways, at the Summit Booth on the convention floor and via giveaway outside the screening location on the evening of the screening.
The fan line will open outside the theater (at 701 5th Avenue) at 5pm. Attendees will have another chance to score a ticket to the screening and welcome Sly and Arny when they arrive on the red carpet.
Man, if I had this opportunity, I would totally take it, just to see how Mirror Universe Schwarzenegger and Barney Ross break out of that ridiculously built prison. It's like the police are just begging to be caught "off-guard"... amiright?

#TheWinterSoldier Teaser Poster

When referring to PCB News, one refers to integrity.  When Trehern is reporting news, though, you're probably referring to his LACK of integrity.  That's why I cannot help but mention that Captain America: The Winter Soldier (or Cap2ain America) has a new teaser poster!

Take it in folks... I can almost see the plot!  Winter Soldier has attacked Cap with a huge barrel of paint thinner, and when Cap's shield loses its paint job, it loses everything!  Except the part that still makes it a shield and it can still do most shield-y things, paint or no paint.  So as far as creativity, I'd give it 2/10 Stan Lee's.  Next time though, let's add some pizzazz; snowflakes or something!

BREAKING NEWS: Michael Jackson Dead at age 50!

TMZ is reporting that Michael Jackson has died today after suffering a Cardiac Arrest in his home. Other sites have not verified this information.

Currently TMZ is the only place officially stating he is dead, however, most news sources are confirming his having a heart attack and being rushed to UCLA Medical Center.

Update: LA Times is now reporting Michael Jackson has died, citing Los Angeles Law Enforcement sources. They say he arrived at the hospital in a deep coma and died shortly thereafter.

I think we can call this official.
